2冊の本と、一つの封筒がとじ合わされ、たとうにくるまれています。2冊の本の中には、『灯台守より』と『星案内人』の短いストーリーが、封筒の中には『再会』の詩が収められています。ストーリー二話のテキストは赤井都が、詩のテキストとカバーアートはアメリカ人ラリー・サイドマンによるもの。
『Finding Light, Keeping Light』というタイトルは、アメリカでの子供の遊び「Finders Keepers」を連想させるタイトルです。また「L」の文字を途中で折ると「I」のように見えます。自分を探し当てる話なので、たとうは「L」の文字の上で折りました。ストーリーも詩も、曲がり角の向こうに話の続きが続いていくような連作です。勇気づけるような肯定的な物語です。
英語版と日本語版の二種があります。
